Prunes are a good source of fiber and have long been recognized as a nutrient-rich fruit with multiple health benefits. They contain iron, potassium and vitamin C and are extremely high in the antioxidants known as phenolics, neochlorogenic acid and chlorogenic acid. The prune’s high antioxidant content overpowers that of raisins and even blueberries.
